LIOPETRI
The uniquely beautiful landscape on the Liopetri River, the old stone houses in the centre of the village and the National Forest Park, make Liopetri a must visit.
HISTORY
Church of Panayia Eleousa
The village is referred to by the same name, Ligopetri, from medieval times and is marked on maps of the time. One of the most important personalities who lived here, was the French poet Arthur Rimbaud (1854 – 1891) who worked in the quarry located on the Liopetri river.

ANNUAL EVENTS
Pancyprian Carrot Festival: The main agricultural product of the village is honoured in a big festival organised at the Community Stadium of Achyrona Liopetri. At the festival you can try out various recipes of renowned chefs based on carrots such as jams, cakes, ice creams and even cocktails. A rich artistic programme is included in the Festival.
Feast of the Virgin Mary: On August 15 a big two-day festival is organised (August 14 & 15) around the church in the centre of the village.
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
The main agricultural products are carrots and potatoes, as well as fruits such as pomegranates and figs.
