FRENAROS
Frenaros village is a bridge that connects tradition with the present.
THE STORY
The Neolithic settlement found in archaeological excavations reveals that the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The earliest official reference to Frenaros however, dates back to the years of the Venetian rule. According to records, it took its name from the Fréres Mineurs (little brothers) seeing as this is how the Franciscan Latin Monks who then owned the monastery of Panayia Chordakiotissa called their order.
