HISTORY
Avgorou is the fourth largest village of the Kokkinochoria and was named after the King of Salamis Evagoras (435 – 374 BC). According to tradition, the King often visited the community because he maintained his baths there.

ANNUAL EVENTS
Pancyprian Potato Festival: One of the biggest cultural festivals in the Kokkinochoria area is organised in Avgorou annually. At the festival you will have the opportunity to try free potatoes cooked in various ways and find many products made from potatoes.
Easter events: Every year, on Easter Tuesday, a big music and dance event is organised in the village square.
