A dream is being realized in Cyprus in three weeks with the opening of the new Larnaka International Airport, Hermes Airports Ltd officials stated here Wednesday.
Presenting to the press the new airport, which will take over the reins from the post-war Larnaka International Airport, Hermes Airports Chairman Nicolas Shacolas said that from the day Hermes began constructing the airport, the new site was delivered in a record time of three years and 39 days.
On November 7, 2009, President of the Republic Demetris Christofias will open the new airport and from 10 November Cyprus Airways and Easy jet will fly out until 17 November when the rest of the airlines will move to the new airport. “We have done everything possible to make everything run smoothly and satisfactory”, Shacolas assured. He stressed that the airport will be delivered on time due to the careful planning and continued monitoring of the construction progress by the Cypriot partners and foreign organizations which participated in the project.
