Founded in 1992, it was the first museum in Cyprus to focus on marine life of both past
and present. Included are a reconstruction of the sea bed during the age of the dinosaurs, fossils of fish of the Triassic and cretaceous periods (225 to 65 million years ago), fossils of shells, barnacles and corals found in various parts of Cyprus, marine organisms, and photographs of marine life.

“Thalassa” the Agia Napa Municipal Museum as a subject-matter the sea and its principle is to present to the audiences and the local and foreign visitors, the impact and the significance of the sea upon the history of the island, from pale ontological to prehistoric periods until present times.

FOLKLORE MUSEUM (DHERYNIA)

An interesting collection of authentic domestic utensils, farm implements and other items in a charming old house of traditional architecture. The main building comprises a covered hall, a second room used as a storeroom, a stable and a small kitchen. All this is surrounded by a spacious yard. A traditional old furnace, once an essential feature of every Cypriot house, stands in one corner of the stone-paved yard.
